Dear colleagues,
Please share this open invitation with all members of your institution who are interested in One Health, education, open technologies, interdisciplinary collaboration, and socially impactful research.
I am writing to you as the founder of the EU COST Action CA24106 – Building Education and One Health with Adaptive Convergence and Open Networks (BEACON), and as the current Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Officer of the Action.
Funded in 2025 and currently completing its first year of activities, BEACON will continue until September 2029 as an interdisciplinary European network dedicated to advancing One Health education through rigorous, open, collaborative, and reproducible scientific practices.
Participation is entirely free of charge and open to any interested individual willing to contribute to the network and its activities. Members gain access to a thriving international community working together to advance health education, pedagogy, educational technologies, legal frameworks, evaluation systems, and open scientific collaboration, while mutually supporting one another through networking, training, scientific exchange, and collaborative development opportunities.
The Action supports participation through COST funding instruments including Short-Term Scientific Missions, meetings, workshops, training schools, dissemination activities, and other networking mechanisms.
We are actively seeking researchers, educators, professionals, and institutional participants from your country in order to strengthen national representation and collaboration within the Action.
We especially encourage early career researchers, students, educators, practitioners, technology specialists, and professionals with a strong interest in One Health, education, and open technologies to join the network.
Participants are welcome to contribute to one or more of the following Working Groups:
- WG1 – Curriculum Development and Research
- WG2 – Educator Training and Capacity Building
- WG3 – Student Engagement and Challenge-Driven Actions
- WG4 – Monitoring, Evaluation, and Impact Assessment
- WG5 – Legal Aspects and Standards
